Judy Schiffman, LCSW, is a clinical social worker who has been the director of the Barr-Harris Children’s Grief Center since 2008. For 25 years, she has worked extensively with children and their families, with a special interest in childhood bereavement. Judy is the assistant director of the Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Program at her alma mater, the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis. She also helps direct the Graduate Program in Genetic Counseling at Northwestern University, where she designed a sequence of psychosocial courses. Judy earned her Master’s degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in Chicago with her husband.
